Chocolate Stroll

Today we headed down to Orting for the annual Chocolate Stroll.  We got out tickets last week for $10, and it gives you a map and bag to 50 businesses that agreed to hand out chocolates to all of the participants (300 people).  The money goes to the city's daffodil float, the businesses get exposure, and the participants get chocolate and coupons...its win-win-win!

We met my parents downtown at 11am for the start of the walk.  We had 3 tickets between all of us.  Our first task was to decipher the map.

They had the stores listed in order and you could start anywhere.  We just started with #1 and went down the list.  The people at each store signed off next to their name, and if you made it to all of them you would get to turn in your map to be entered for a gift basket.

We started right away and it ended up taking about 3 hours...just the right amount of time because I was starting to get SORE!  Good thing I wore athletic shoes :) We got all sorts of treats and coupons all around Orting.

He had orange soda last night and still has the mustache lol

Sawyer got a Snoopy from MetLife

Done!

There's mine

My favorite was the places that tried to match their business.  Here is a chocolate covered fortune cookie from the Chinese restaurant, skinny cow chocolates from the gym, a tooth cookie from the dentist, lips from Mary Kay, and a "lahar cupcake" from the city of Orting.  A couple more not pictured that I thought were smart was getting a hot chocolate from the coffee shop, and a chocolate shake sample from Body by Vi.

We were careful not to give Sawyer too much, we don't want him throwing up at 4am again!

Afterwards we went to lunch at Emperor's City- the Chinese restaurant I briefly worked for in high school.  It is STILL the best Chinese around!  Definitely worth the drive...though it is probably just as close as any restaurant now that we moved to Graham and live right by the road to Orting haha.  Sawyer wouldn't try the food we wanted to share, but ate both of our "tacos" (egg rolls).

We got home and all three of us fell right asleep!  It was fun, but definitely an exhausting day!

  1. A fun day, kinda "Choco Treating" for the Valentine holiday instead of "Trick or Treating" for Halloween! Whoever came up with that idea deserves a prize, cuz it's a great one. You are right win, win, win.
