Race Pics

Ok, last one for today!

Here are a few pictures from when Andy ran his trail race.

Before the race

Meeting before it starts

No Beans, you can't run too

Time to go!

Bye!

Off into the forest

He thought the shadows punching each other were funny

Halfway done at the fuel station

Almost done!

FINISHED!

Doin' the Puyallup 2012

Apparently this is the last year it will be the "Puyallup Fair" the tagline will still be "Do the Puyallup," but it will be the "Washington State Fair."

Anyway, we got up bright and early to get good street parking. We were all nice and hungry, because let's be honest, that is why you go to the fair...FAIR FOOD!

It was barely 10am, but we headed straight to the Earthquake Burgers.  We were about second in line!  That place gets super backed up, so we wanted to take advantage of the open picnic tables and the lack of line.  Sawyer loved the fries and burger!  Of course we did too, we look forward to it all year (they don't have Earthquakes at the spring fair.)

We also had other classic fair gems like the krusty pup

 Strawberry shortcake

Ice cream cones from the dairy barn

And not pictured, strawberry lemonade and scones.  The line for scones was like 40 minutes long! :(

We were excited this year because we thought Sawyer would finally be tall enough for the rides.   You have to be 2 and 36 inches.  He BARELY made it on.  We had to fight to get him on the giant slide, but luckily his feet were pushed out a little and after moving them back, they let him on.  He LOVED them!  It was so funny, when we went to load him up, he insisted on sitting in the back seat.

His favorite was probably the train.  They got to sit in the front!  He is like obsessed with choo choo trains now.  Andy took him and said he was so excited.

There they are walking up the stairs.  Andy said he probably enjoyed walking up the steps just as much as going down the slide, he loved counting the steps.

They are going down on the far left lane (our view)

We never spent so much time at the fair!  We were there for like 10 hours.  Sawyer was excited to see the animals the most.

Its dark, but his tongue cracks me up.

The piglets were only a few days old

We also watched the mutton busting, but I don't have pics.  Probably because I was holding back tears watching these poor kids get trampled and slammed by sheep.  Andy said he wanted Sawyer to go, but after watching a 4 year old break her wrist, and a 6 year old get slammed into the wall where he couldn't get up, I think that would be terrible parenting throwing your kid on a sheep for jollies and saying hold on until it throws you off or runs you into a wall.  Luckily you have to be 4, so I have plenty of time to convince him otherwise!  We were so tired by the end, but we saw everything, and I call it a success!

Bees

I GOT MY COMPUTER BACK! So now I can post a few things I've missed that were stuck on my camera.

*disclaimer: my photoshop isn't back working and it was sunset, so they are all pretty dark since I didn't want to use the flash

This was awhile ago, but Erik got stung by a bee, and they realized there were a couple hives outside their garage apartment.  Andy had a couple cans of spray from work so he brought them over and came to help.  They found that there were 2 nests, one on each side of the garage.

They covered up in jackets, and emptied most of the cans on the first side :/

The second side didn't last long and they were sure they didn't get them all.

So, a joke suggestion turned into a plan...a bad one.

They sucked up about 2 bees...and got stung twice.  Note: vacuums agitate bees.

We ended up going to Home Depot for more spray.  They thought it was a little nest, but turned out it was under a slab of carpet and was like 2 feet by 2 feet.  They got them all with the new spray while me Destiny and Sawyer hid in the house.

I wanted to post some of the pics of Sawyer from that night though because they are so "him"

She lives next door to the air force base, so he heard the "big jets"

He was walking so funny for the heck of it
