Goodbye, 2011

2011 was a pretty good year for us!  Here are the highlights:

January:

We went to the Harry Potter Exhibit at the Pacific Science Center

February:

Sawyer rode his first horse, and I had my 24th birthday at the spaghetti factory

March:

I had my first rugby game.  Also, we took a road trip to Sacramento, San Francisco, the Jelly Belly Factory, and Salt Lake

April:

Andy turned 30, we had our first Easter with Saywer, and we road tripped to Spokane for a rugby tourney

May:

The weather started to get really warm, and my brother graduated college from Washington State University

June:

Sawyer got his first haircut, we walked in the Seattle Pride parade, and Sawyer turned ONE!

July:

Sawyer went to his first Mariner's game, we ran in warrior dash, and we went camping at the ocean for the 4th

August:

We hiked High Rock, and put an offer on our house

September:

We hiked at Mt. Rainier and went to the fair

October:

Halloween!

November:

Thanksgiving!

December:

Moving to our new house and Christmas!

What a whirlwind of a year!  If that much can happen, I can't wait to see what 2012 brings us!

Varsity

Tonight we went to the Varsity Grill for my friend Jordan's 25th.  They had karaoke but we didn't stay too long because I don't think sleepy Sawyer appreciated the music like the adults do.  He did appreciate his usual tomato plate and the cake :)

On an unrelated note, I finally put up a shower rod and curtain in our downstairs bathroom.  I am undecided if I want to keep it purple down there or if I want to move it to our room...I did find some cute fake purple peonies at Michaels that would look good though...
...it looks way better in person, haha

Dealin'

We got a few deals today I was excited about.

First, Walgreens has 25 free 4x6 prints right now if you pick them up in the store and use the code PRINTNOW online.  We picked those up today through one hour photo.

Our second was when we went to go get our frame that Andy's mom sent a gift card for at Michaels.  We stopped by my parents' house to grab a coupon (I knew they'd have one somewhere) but when we got there, we saw the "custom" frames would have been like $65 for a basic 16x20 even with the 55% off coupon.  We went over to the regular frames and found a perfect one, and they were 40% off.  Good thing I took all the coupons because with the extra ones we were able to use, we got all this for the price of the frame alone.  Huzzah!

I'm glad I finally got some spray paint because I have had some plans for my goodwill frame.  Maybe we can start decorating finally!

Happiness

Happiness is having this view...

...lol, sleepy heads.

We have also had a pretty happy week.  We finally got our mail key so got a few more Christmas cards and gifts (thanks to Andy's dad and Jan, as well as our grandparents).  On Monday Andy's cousin Megan and her husband Andrew came up from Utah, then down from Everett to have dinner with us.  It was fun to get to talk with them.  We wish they lived closer but glad Megan married Andrew who is from western WA.  Yesterday Andy and I started doing Jillian Michaels yoga and ordered our Fivefingers through REI.  Today Andy's friends he grew up with here (Matt, Jordan, and Luke) came over and Sawyer and I went to hang out with Ashley and Brea and eat spaghetti.  I taught Ashley the trick to teach babies how to drink out of a straw (squeeze a juice box) and Brea learned right away after countless times of Ashley trying other ways. We are all tired though, and Sawyer's teeth are coming in like the doctor predicted so he looks like a zombie.

Oops, I forgot to post about Sawyer's doctor appointment on Thursday.  He is 25 lbs 3 oz (40%) and 33 1/2 inches (80%) and healthy and what-not.  He says enough words and does enough things and drinks whole milk out of his sippy cup and takes one nap a day and has plenty of wet and dirty diapers and sleeps all night and is very active. Then she asks if we have questions for her and leaves.  He didn't need shots because we came in too soon so he gets to wait until he is 2 for those puppies.

Oh, and he learned a new word today..."mess".  He kept saying it when things fell on the ground.

Horry

Sawyer dropped a "guck" on my foot.  It was remote controlled.  It hurt.

I did the normal thing and yelled, "OOOWWWWW!"

He looked at me with puppy eyes and said something that made me proud.

"Horry."

I'm so proud.  He now uses please, thank you, and sorry the right way.  That's pretty much all you need ;)

I will now ruin that touching moment by showing how much of a weirdo he is.  He kept closing himself in the pantry tonight (it was completely black in there, I didn't turn the light on.)  Every time I opened the door after awhile to get him out, he would be smiling and just say "Hi!" and close the door back on himself. I guess we have a little vampire :-/

Christmas '11

Christmas went well :)

I woke up at 9:30 (yess!) to Sawyer running in yelling MOMMY! and hitting me.  We went downstairs and opened Sawyer's presents from us and Andy's parents.  Andy insisted I wrap all his hot wheels and GI Joes separately so he started to get bored after awhile and just wanted to play.  I got a book from Andy and he got a couple t-shirts from me (in addition to the Vibram Fivefingers we are about to order).  His mom also gave us a big picture of the two of us that I am excited to hang up once we figure out where everything is going. I forgot to mention my mom & dad got me a Target giftcard yesterday and Andy got a tool cabinet.  From Destiny and Erik I got some Christmas decorations and a mud mask, and Andy got one of those travel mugs with pictures inside. Thanks everyone!!!

Here are all his gifts from this Christmas.  I think he's spoiled :/

Sawyer has been playing with his "gucks" all day.  Another funny story, my mom asked Sawyer if Santa came last night and he looked at Grandpa Bob and pointed and said "Danta!" lol!  We also played scribblish which was super funny as usual. We had lots of fun with family and friends, and Sawyer got some good loot.  Thanks everyone!!!
