Spaghetti Face

Sometimes things are just easier to eat with your hands.

Today he also ate about 3 ice creams added up.  He kept going up to everyone and asking for bites.  I think he got half of everyone's bowls!

It was a good weekend.  We had Krissy & Leslie and Kyndyl & Joe over for meatball subs and games last night.  It was definitely a good time.

Today we met up with Katie in a park in Tacoma to practice my kicking.  It looks like I'll be playing fly-half again this season so I need to work on it.  Andy taught me very well and said my kicks improved a lot today and they were pretty good :)  It isn't easy kicking a ball shaped like that!  You have to remember to drop it low, keep your leg straight without kicking the ground, run into it, hit it at just the right spot on your foot, and have it dropped at just the right angle.  All after having caught it thrown from a distance while people are running at you full speed. Yikes!

Afterwards we went to mom and dad's to eat spaghetti with Destiny and Erik and her parents.  It was cute, as soon as we pulled into my parents' neighborhood, Sawyer started yelling "bampa!  Erik!  mama! Erik!" except he says "Eh-wik" He still can't say Destiny lol.  We didn't tell him where we are going though so it always surprises us how he knows things like that.  He also surprised us because Iron Man was on (I've only seen it once) and he freaked out yelling "MAN-MAN!" and would get all angry when the movie would pan to someone else.  I guess he learned that at daycare lol.

This was the last total-relax weekend...the rugby games are starting next weekend.... in Portland....we have to be there at 9am which means we have to leave here at 7am...UGH lol.

Moo.

Today I was cracking up.  It is probably one of those things that are only funny when you are there, but I wanted to document so I remember it.

Sawyer came over and in his tiny adorable quiet voice he has been doing lately (but with a binky in) goes "moo".

I said, "What?"

"moo"

"Take your binky out, I don't understand you"

(takes out binky) "moo"

That was no improvement.  What can sound like "moo"?  Movie?

"What are you talking about?"

You see, he only repeats sounds/words if he is really trying to say something.  I was trying to figure out what he was doing when he walked over to the bookshelf and lifted his hand up.  I noticed Andy had his wooden bull I think (which I always thought was a water buffalo or something..still not sure what it is) on the top shelf from the Philippines.

"Ohh!  You mean this cow?"

"Cow"

"Yeah, cows SAY moo"

I gave him the cow and he was super excited "COW COW COW!"

I took a picture of him super excited.  He says "cheese" for the camera now LOL

Then he got mad after a few minutes for some reason and threw the cow on our wood table.

"NO Beany, no more cow for you ever again"

He was not thrilled.

What is also funny though, is lately because he hears me call for Andy when I need him, that he now calls "ANNY ANNY!" when he wants Andy to come.  I think it is hilarious but Andy is trying to tell him "No, DADDY" heehee.  It is only when he is calling for him though, otherwise he is still "daddy."

Blinded!

Guess what....WE GOT OUR BLINDS!

I know, about time!  It was in the offer of the house that they would install blinds, but I feel like moving in before the closing date postponed everything.  We have had a sheet over ours and Sawyer's windows, and I have been super nervous in the bathroom getting out of the shower.  They put a giant window in the bathroom that is distorted (not sure how to explain it) so Andy thinks people couldn't see in, but I feel like if it was dark outside and the bathroom light was on, they could at least see blob versions of us.  Plus, if it was bright outside the backlight was so strong, I couldn't do hair/makeup etc because I couldn't even see myself.

Problem solved.

That is our bedroom.  There was a gap in the sheet we had up right in front of the closet, so I would have to run into the closet, shut the door, then turn on the light (to avoid them seeing me in the light) to get dressed. It was a pain.

Our blinds installer was even a rugby fan!  He saw our ball and asked :)  Speaking of rugby, the field is turning to mush again thanks to the men and our recent rain storms.  Our first game is in Portland in like 2 weeks so hopefully we can get some good practices in quick with all our new members and our old coach gone :/  I came home soaked last night, but it wasn't too cold thank goodness.

One more random thought since I am at work:  I hate electric staplers.  It always turns out like this:
I don't get who is lazy enough that they can't press down on a regular one, but would rather deal with cords being plugged in and in the way.

A few more mannerisms

I don't think I've posted something that Sawyer's been doing since probably before he turned one, but it is so cute.  He sings along to songs in the car.  He sings "Lalalalalala" when Cobra Starship's "you make me feel" or Hot Chelle Ray's (sp?) "tonight" comes on.  He was one and would start singing that part before it came because he knew the songs.  He would also start saying "beebeebeebeebee" when Salena Gomez's I love you like a love song comes on because she says "repea-pea-pea-pea-pea-peat".  It is so funny because we will be driving around in the car talking, forgetting he is even sitting back there, and we will just hear "la la la la la", it is adorable!

Speaking of adorable, he has been extra cute lately.  He says "love you" a lot, if I am laying on the floor he comes up and lays down right next to me (or climbs on the couch to lay by me), and he gives everyone kisses and hugs without asking.  It is actually a bad thing sometimes because I can't say no to such a cute kid.  He also is getting attached to me which isn't exactly good either :/ He didn't ever like us to leave him, but it is getting to the point he won't even let other people hold him when he is in one of those moods.  Hopefully that goes away soon.

He is doing well growing though.  He will say anything you ask him to (not perfectly, but well), he understands us, and is able to communicate what he wants clearly now (what a freakin' relief!)  I honestly just wish kids started at this age, because I don't want to deal with a whiny kid again lol!  A downside though, he has started hitting when we make him mad.  It is usually when he is demanding Elmo or Cars while pointing at the TV and we say "no."  If we yell at him he points and scowls at us just like the monkey in the closet on Family Guy.  I guess it is better than more hits though.

I'm trying to think of anything else I should document, but nothing is coming to mind. Sometimes he just makes funny faces, which I will close this post with :)  I have no idea why he was doing that, but he was laughing, then made the face, then laughed, and kept doing it.

Birthday Dinners

Since I was busy all of my actual birthday, we did my birthday dinner later.

First I will post a picture that Janelle took- she did the boys' hair at daycare and I thought it was a cute picture.

After work on Friday we met my parents and Erik and Destiny at Karma, the local Indian restaurant for a family dinner.  We had been meaning to go forever, but had only had it once when a guy that worked there was friends with one of our roommates and brought tons of it home once.

We were not really familiar with the menu items.  I have not had Indian food apart from that time I mentioned above, and when we went to the Sikh church in Renton.  (Side note, even though we had no idea what was going on at that church since we don't speak Punjabi, the entire bottom floor is just people feeding you.  You sit on rugs and they bring you refills and everything and you don't even pay them apart from the offering. It was awesome.) All I knew was I loved it, but the waitress was very helpful at telling us what people normally ordered.  We ordered like 5 curries and some garlic naan (minus cilantro because I can't stand cilantro!).

They arrived and filled our entire table with bowls.  We all pretty much just covered our plates in rice and put blobs of the different sauces on, and we have no idea which one was which lol.  I think my favorites were the chicken tikki marsala and the chicken nirvana (we asked the girl later to try to identify.)  It was sooooo good, though my weak mouth was burning even though we only ordered it a "2" on a 1-5 spicy scale.  We gave Sawyer some naan and it was funny because he sneaked a dip of one of the sauces and made the funniest face and went "EWWW! EWWWW! EWWWW!"  I am so happy we went, and Andy has already asked twice when we can go back! haha!

We went to the mall after so I could exchange my TOMS since they were both too big (even though they were the size I already had 3 pairs of).  I ended up having to go a size down in one, and 2 sizes down in another! I changed one of the shirts Andy got me for a cute dress too.  We went home and ate ice cream cake.

Today we lounged around until we went to Olive Garden with Ashley and Autumn.  Sawyer looked so cute.  It was funny because he took Brea's hand (he calls her "Be-ba") and they took off running into the restaurant holding hands.  It was probably the cutest thing I've ever seen!  I wish we could have got a photo but it happened so fast :(  Anyway the food was delicious and they got me balloons and a jamba juice card. Mmmm.

We ate Coldstone, went to Walmart, and Redboxed Breaking Dawn part 1.  It was gross because Bella is pretty much just sick and breaking bones the whole movie- eww.  It was a good time though :)  Even though I wanted to make a bigger deal of this birthday since I thought it was a big one, it was still a really good one!

Awesome birthday

It happened. I am a quarter of a century old.

I love my husband!

The day started with Andy surprising me at home when I was getting Sawyer out of his crib.  He came to make me breakfast and I got to leave a half hour later because I didn't have to take him to daycare.  He made me an egg sandwich and my first gift- red TOMS. :)  He also surprised me with the fact that the builder was coming today to fix some things we had issues with for our one month appointment (a little late.)

I got to work and Natalie brought me the most delicious brownies with peanut butter chips.  She brought peanut butter and chocolate cookies for my manager Jen who had a birthday yesterday.  Jen showed up with 2 cupcakes from Jubilee cupcakes: triple chocolate and "The Elvis" which is a banana one with chocolate frosting stuff inside and peanut butter frosting on top. They were delicious!

My mom called from outside (she was just at the gym which is next to my work in the parking lot) and offered to bring me a smoothie.  I had just eaten sweets and was halfway through a coke, so I declined, but it was so nice of her to ask.  Just then Andy called and said to go check the milage in the pathfinder for him.  He and Beany were outside with a pretty bouquet, a balloon, and Jimmy Johns, which just opened in Puyallup two days ago.
It's hard to see, but they are lime green, yellow, and bright purple flowers! So pretty!

I was stuffed all day!  I got home and Andy gave me 2 shirts as another gift (I didn't take a picture).  I haven't tried them on yet though so I can exchange them if they don't look good on me.  I got ready and soon it was time for the first rugby practice since October!  It wasn't too cold even though it was raining all day, but we ended up pretty wet and muddy from flopping around on the grass.  As it was time to go I realized I lost my mouth guard while running laps and it was too dark and late to go searching.  It was $20 (braces ones cost more) so I'm going to have to go back and comb the field :(  Also, the road was closed that I normally take and I ended up lost in Fife with a near dead phone.  Luckily it lasted long enough for me to call Andy and have him talk me though directions to the freeway.

I got home finally and took a bath with the new cupcake bubble bath fizzies Andy got me.  It was super soft!  He made my favorite dinner while I was in there: fried chicken dipped in fry sauce.  I LOVE his fried chicken!  We also had those delicious herb noodles.

We watched Parks and Rec and the Office (2 of our favorite shows) and he gave me one more gift: blue stripey TOMS.  Yep, I got 2 new pairs today!  I now have 5 pairs lol.  Luckily they go with everything from skirts to shorts to jeans, and I even have a pair to wear to work.

This was definitely a great day apart from the rugby situation.  Andy did so much for me.  I also appreciated all the wishes on facebook- it is interesting to see what people come out of hiding to say happy birthday, I had almost 70 :)  I think social networks are an awesome way to stay in touch with old friends!

Thanks everyone for everything!  Tomorrow we are going out to Indian food with the family :)

The Little Gym

I guess before I post about the Little Gym I should mention that awful holiday that thinks it is okay to come each year 2 days before my birthday. >:(  I will just say that Sawyer loves the elmo balloon and Lightning McQueen and Mater cars so much he didn't put them down the whole day...he even slept with them!  He came home yelling for juice, but completely forgot about it when he saw the Cars on the table.  I am so glad he likes them.

Ok so for the good part...we took Sawyer to his first Little Gym class today!  My mom won a membership and a month there at a costco raffle, so she gave it to him to use.  We sang songs, ran in a circle, bounced on the air bag, uneven bars, balls, and bubbles.  He had so much fun!

Here are some clips.  They are all very short so it wont take long to watch them.

Here he is licking bubbles off the floor for some reason :/

This one is a bit longer (like a minute and a half), but worth the hilarious fall in the end

Here he is on beam

Here he is on the air bag

Here he is on the mat

Here are a few still shots of him

He had a lot of fun, but you only go once a week and it is $75 a month so I don't think he will go longer than the month....at least until he is old enough to use the equipment :)

Bubble Wrap

Sawyer loved this stuff. It was almost all popped out by the time we took this, but still got him stomping around!

Seattle Shenanigans

Sunday was a great day!

I woke up and did pictures for Ashley's friend Courtney...well, her kids anyway.  We have hung out a few times so it was fun to do.  Here are a few.  I have a narrow-down issue and ended up doing like 35 for her, EEK! haha!

Afterwards, we headed straight up to Seattle.  We were meeting family at the Crab Pot for Moraima's birthday but had a couple hours to spare.

We had the best parking spot ever right by the Crab Pot and walked over to Pike Place Market.

We did the gum wall:

Went to the first Starbucks (and made funny faces)

Went to the market

Looked at the boats (Sawyer loved this)

Found the store that strangely had everything we were looking for

Visited my favorite store (It has all sorts of weird stuff in there, even 2 REAL mummies!)

Then it was time to eat!

Keeping Sawyer entertained while we wait
I had never been to the Crab Pot before, and it was awesome!  Andy's dad treated us all to one of the "feasts" that they are so famous for.  I had seen it on the food network before, but never in person.  Basically they give everyone a piece of wood and a mallet (and a bib which for some reason we didn't get but everyone else in the restaurant did) and they just dump the "feast" out on the table.  It had crab (YUM, my fave), clams, mussels, sausage, potatoes, corn on the cob, and shrimp- which were delicious, but creepy because they still had their legs and eyes!  It was SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD. Oh man.  And my stomach didn't even hurt afterwards which usually happens when I don't eat all day then stuff myself.  This is one of my new favorite restaurants!  We will have to save up to go next time though lol- it is over $25 a person for that thing (minimum 2).  It is definitely worth it though!

I have just been working on pictures since, but it has been nice because we are all healthy again!  We have all had colds forever (mine lasted like 2 weeks) and it has been pretty miserable lately!

Symphony

Today was a doozy, so I will just post about Friday and Saturday until I get everything together.

Friday we headed to the Northwest Symphony (or something like that) in Burien.  My dad got tickets from work, and my grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins, Destiny and Erik, and Janet all went up to watch.  Sawyer didn't throw any fits or anything, but it was mostly older people there, and he would try to sing or say words which comes out VERY loud when in that situation.  Poor Andy had to take him to the back of the room the whole time.

Theres everyone except my grandparents and Janet, they sat closer

That is Andy walking Sawyer up at the front left right before it started

Saturday morning I had rookie camp, but didn't participate because I am still getting over this awful cold.  I figured rolling in the mud, hard work, and cold weather would not be ideal to help fight it.

Afterwards I took pictures of a photographer friend of Ashley's.  I am getting quite sick of the dairy, but it is hard to avoid it when everyone goes "I want pictures where you did _____'s" haha.  Here are a few:

Afterwards we went to eat at the most delicious mexican I think I've ever had, MocteZuma's in Tacoma.  Everything was good, and I even scarfed ALL the rice and beans, which usually I just pick at.  Sawyer dropped his "B" under Andy's chair and it was super awkward having me lay down on the floor in the restaurant and everyone asking what was wrong lol.

My chimichanga
I spent the rest of the night working on the pictures while Andy got a much needed nap!
