Connecticut

Today we left New Jersey via Bronx.  We had to pay a toll to go over the G. Washington bridge...apparently you have to pay a toll to get up there most routes.  It was $12...ugh.  Anyway, we went through Bronx and it was dirty.  Actually, all of NY that we've seen is dirty and smells like garbage everywhere because of the heat.  Anyway, we escaped there and went north.  We drove for awhile and ended up in New London, Connecticut.  We called like 4 hotels but they were all full since it is memorial day tomorrow, but we found a Clarion.  We checked in, and headed towards signs for a beach.  It was awesome!  Apparently after 6 it is free and it was 6:03.  The beach has a little boardwalk with concessions, rides, and even a small water park (closed when we were there).  We hung out on the beach for a little bit, then headed for dinner at Ruby Tuesday, followed by a swim in the hotel pool.  It was nice to slow it down for a bit after our recently busy days!

$12 grumble...

Bye Bye downtown
