We finally got a vacuum! Behold, the Shark Navigator Professional Lift Away!
We have not really been big vacuumers. . I think my weariness started when I first moved into my apartment when I was 19 and I vacuumed up the fireplace ash...and the vacuum bag exploded leaving the apartment filled with a big black cloud. I would still do it every now and then, but I never had a good one and it didn't work well. I could spot something on the floor and roll over it 4 times to finally pick it up with mine. We didn't even vacuum the duplex when we left because nothing was getting sucked up.
Destiny and her mom were raving about one they saw on an infomercial and when they bought it, it was just as good. They came over with it when our Christmas tree was up, and it sucked up everything...every needle...and even a full ribbon that I left on the floor as if it was nothing! Staring at the ribbon in the dust bin, I was sold.
I looked the thing up online and every review was raving. People liked it better than their old ones, even dysons and kirbys. The "professional" model even came with a big attachment with a microfiber cloth for bare floors that sucks big things while also dusting. It doesn't lose suction and even swivels without a big ugly ball. It sucks so hard (lol) it has a knob you can turn to make it less sucky. One of the coolest features is that you can "lift away" the dust bin and hose to vacuum the stairs or areas high up without lugging the whole thing up the stairs.
It is lame that I am raving about a vacuum, but it was exciting. I vacuumed the living room and this is what was sucked up! We haven't even been here that long and we have vacuumed with one Davey let us have recently. Gross...but awesome!

Bunco
Saturday we had a "rookie camp" for people new to rugby and it went very well! Everyone was pretty coordinated, which is good. I am still sore :/
Afterwards we got ready and ate and what-not and then we went to Natalies for Bunco. It was way fun! First we ate mexican, then played left right center. Charlene won all the money :( Not everyone played though.
Next we started Bunco. If you don't know what it is, it is when you roll 3 dice to try to get the number you are on that round. For example, the first round is 1's so you roll your dice for 1's and you roll until you don't roll any. You get the amount of points for how many 1's you rolled. If you get 3 of the same number it is worth 5 points, and if you roll 3 of the number you are "on" it is called a Bunco and you get 21 points. You play until a team at the head table gets 21. (4 people per table, and you are teams with the person sitting opposite you). You record your win, loss, buncos, and if you roll a 1-2-3 you yell "FUZZY DICE" and get the fuzzy dice. The winners move up a table, and the losers stay at the table they are at. Then you move up to the next number (2's) and go from there. You win money if you had the most wins, losses, buncos, or if you end with the fuzzy dice at the end of the night.
We had a ton of fun and were happy to find a lot of excited other people that were just as loud as us, which was probably attributed to the mass amount of empty beer bottles acquired at the end of the night. The sad thing was, we didn't win any money. We are too "average" It was a pretty cheap night out though and we are thankful Destiny was able to take Sawyer for us :)
Sunday we went to the Tacoma mall to get our vacuum but they were out. I got a few shirts though. Later, Andy made some delicious macaroni & cheese (homemade style, not boxed lol), lemon/garlic/parmesan broccoli, and rolls and my parents came over to discuss our trip to the East Coast this May. Sawyer hasn't been feeling well, but hopefully he gets better soon.
Here he is with the Zhu Zhu hamster I was talking about earlier. They roll around and even back up and spin if they hit a wall! He just likes to roll it off the table though and cracks up.
We have the heat up and fireplace on 2 feet away so our house gets really warm- he isn't freezing here lol.

Back to Normal
This week has been normal!
MONSON upside-down is NOSNOW and that is how I'd like it for awhile!
Sunday the Berners came over and Andy made some tasty meatball sandwiches and fries (he even made the sauce) It was cute to see the boys play together, and Sawyer kept feeding Jake and Everett goldfish.
Tuesday we went to The Hub for my rugby team's pre-season meeting. We had quite a few noobs show up, which is exciting. We actually are having a "rookie camp" tomorrow morning to teach people the ropes. I am excited to get back in the swing of things. I haven't played in a couple months and I feel like a huge fatty doing nothing all the time. I feel like I must have gained 20 lbs. I tried on a pair of really small (for me) shorts that didn't even fit this summer and they were just the right size so I am not as worried as I was-haha! A negative is our awesome coach is getting deployed, so we are back to where we were last spring. I must remind you that we lost all our spring games, but then won all our games after our new coach this fall. I am hoping it doesn't go back to how it was in the spring and we find a coach ASAP. It also sucks because I keep feeling like I have to prove myself over and over and starting new with each coach and that is frustrating to have to keep fighting for a position :-/
Yesterday I got Sawyer a potty seat. It is Sesame Street, which is his favorite. They said you should get the kid comfortable with the seat before you start training them and they should sit on it for awhile with their clothes on so that is what he has been doing. He just sits on it when we go. He always follows us in, then causes trouble so I thought it would be nice to have in there. He was so excited to sit on it :)
Today Sawyer got a Zhu Zhu hamster and he thinks it is the funniest thing. He rolls it off the table and between his legs and laughs hard the entire time. I took the pic of him on my phone and it is taking too long to get to my email so no picture of it :/
Better hit the hay, I have rugby tomorrow, probable photo shoot, and bunco at night. I'm hoping Andy has his usual bunco luck because we are playing for money. I love the weekend :)

Ice Ice Baby
OOOHHH EMMMM GEEE!!!
It has been nuts the past few days. An ice storm caused about half the trees out there to break and most of Puyallup was out of power for at least one day, some are still out. We spent the first night at my parents' house since they still had power, but the next 2 nights they were out and we had it...but our cable and internet went out! It was awful because my work was powerless so I had to stay home just me and Sawyer with NO TV OR INTERNET. Even my phone internet wasn't working. I had never been more bored in my life. It was tough doing nothing all day. It was the longest 2 days of my life! I was close to tears! Poor Sawyer didn't have any friends either and he started getting antsy too, but the roads were too bad to go driving around...not to mention the stoplights were all out so it would take forever. Luckily the cable just came back on, the lights are on at work, and the roads are clear (apart from a few stoplights still out) so hopefully next week is better!
I will post later on what we did the past few days, but here are some pics of the ice storm.

HAHA our Christmas tree is still in the yard |
These are blades of grass! |
Poor rhododendrons, I had to kick the ice chunks off. I figured a kick was less dangerous than heavy snow breaking the whole plant |
I hope all our new trees survive |

Videos
Hope everyone is safe in the snow! I am bored at work with zero customers (surprise, surprise) so I thought I'd post a couple videos that were on my youtube.
This first one was last night while watching Glee, Sawyer decides to break dance. My favorite part is towards the end.
This was on new year's eve. I thought it was cute, even if it is a half of a month late.

Snow day
It is the second one I've posted today, but I wanted to blog about our snow day! It has been snowing all day off and on and is supposed to continue through Tuesday. We put Sawyer in his snoveralls and went to play this morning.
Then, Andy made a lasagna from scratch and our friends Krissy and Leslie came over.
When they left we bundled up Sawyer and took him for a walk around the neighborhood in his sled. It was so cute because he kept yelling WEEEEEE! I spun him around so fast at the start that he wanted out, but he liked just going along for a ride.
He kept saying "BUBBLES!" |

Oh, by the way, here is a view out the front window of our drive home last night...this is I-5!!! Here is one of the higher visibility spots because of the street lights
