The haps

Here is what we are all up to:

Kellan:  His hair is hilarious.  He still loves to dance and always stops what he is doing to dance if he hears the Hot Dog Dance, the into to the video game Battleblock Theater, or the Octonauts song.  He is saying more words on his own without us asking, but still not many.  These words are: uh-oh, all done, apple, bite, up, yay, oww, ball, look-it/look, ready set go, mine, book, cheese, daddy, and mommy (though half the time he calls me daddy too.)  He likes to make messes by pulling things out of their proper places (diaper bag, my craft shelf, laundry in baskets, DVD's, etc).  He loves apples so much he always moves the chairs over to the counter and climbs on it to get an apple out and eat it.  He talks like he is saying full sentences, but they aren't real words...I feel bad for not understanding him since he thinks he is talking.  He can jump really well now which is cute when he gets excited.  He loves daddy.  He has to have a water cup under his arm and a binky and blanket to go to sleep, and he just lays there and talks to himself until he falls asleep.  He likes to read and drive cars and play legos and take whatever toy Sawyer has (but Sawyer does the same to him.)  He won't sit still to watch TV yet which is fine unless I need him to sit still for a few minutes. He also has taken a recent liking to playing in toilets which is not good.

Sawyer:  Sawyer still prefers to be in only undies and often gets in trouble with Andy if he isn't wearing at least a shirt or shorts.  He tries to wear shorts out in the cold even.  He is saying some pretty adult words, and starts sentences with things like "You know" "Actually" and "Certainly" which is really cute when a 4 year old says them.  He still says British things like "cheeky" and "ring" (as in calling someone on the phone) thanks to Peppa Pig.  His favorite show is Octonauts and tries to watch it all day or play it on his leapster.  His second favorite show is Peppa. I should mention that Kellan loves when the pigs snort and does an adorable baby snort each time the intro comes on.  He asks all day to play video games, and he is actually really good at Battleblock Theater.  I bet he would be really good at Mario!  He is currently in karate (it is in between season of soccer but indoor is next and he doesn't like indoor so not sure what we're doing) and he has his first tournament tomorrow.  He has been pushing everyone's buttons lately by not doing things the first time, which gets him in the corner or sent to his room often (also for jumping on the furniture dangerously and kellan tries to copy).  He always wants his brother with him which I think is cute, and if he gets a treat from someone, he always asks for one for his brother.  He likes to sleep on our floor still but sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night and goes downstairs to watch TV, which he knows he isn't allowed.

Me: I am enjoying my new shorter schedule, getting home by 4:30 daily.  I also love being back in music.  I was in band grades 5-9 and I'm feeling like I'm in grade 5 again.  It is REALLY helpful learning guitar having been in band though since I get the ideas behind the scales and notes and know the terminology.  It's still pretty difficult trying to remember the scales to make chords and finding where the notes are on the strings...not to mention my fingers are short and uncoordinated so I'm still not very good yet.  I've even started listening to music at work on Pandora and busted out some of my old favorites from high school by putting Silverstein radio on.  That is half screamo so I wouldn't recommend that station unless you were into the emo/post-hardcore stuff back in the day ;)  Another station I love is Phillip Phillips radio on Pandora- but don't do that on spotify because instead of getting folk-rock you end up with a bunch of American Idol contestants.  I am also going to bed super early which is weird but I get up at 4:15 so I have to get SOME sleep and going to bed at midnight doesnt really allow for that.

Andy: Andy is working 4x10's but has been really busy with extra hours having to take on a lot of extra work in some people's absense.  He always makes the best food and it isn't out of boxes which is nice.  He spends free time writing and watching sports or playing with the kids.  We are talking about him starting a hobby soon since the rest of us are in things, he just hasn't decided on one yet.

Davey: I don't really know what Davey does because he is usually gone or in his room where I assume he is playing xbox or talking on the phone.  He shows up randomly and helps with the kids or dishes.

In general: the fall leaves have been so pretty for a few weeks now, I just love it.  The drive up and down 405 has actually been pleasant with the views.  There apparently has been some arctic air that made its way to the US which means it went from a pretty warm October to FREEZING the last few days.  It hasn't been wet though which is nice.  It was super windy earlier in the week and so many cities lost power from downed trees, but we were always in the clear thank goodness.  The wind was blowing all the crunchy leaves off the trees and it was really cool looking through as they were swirling around all day.
