Goobers
The kids are such goofballs. A few examples:
Sawyer not only put oven mitts on his feet, but proceeded to wear them for about an hour.
He grabbed a bucket and a pirate sword, and marched around the house with his "drum"
Playing in the back seat (we were parked)
I thought this was funny
Kellan emerged from the toy room with a giant sword. He came over and started dancing (the song is one of the ones sounder fans sing at the matches)
Kel also likes to push balls around the house like a cat. Here he was doing it with a car:
Last night I got out of the shower to Sawyer watching sprout on our bed. He says, "Can you please go back in the shower?" I said, "No, why?" He says "you need to go take another shower in your bathroom" (I shower in the boys bathroom) "Why?" He says, "because your hair is flat". What? Andy came up and said he told him he was allowed to watch sprout until I got out of the shower.
The other day we tried to get him to try spaghetti (it had sauce and he didn't want sauce) and he says, "but it's going to make me almost die!"
Sawyer got too tired in soccer and just quit mid-game and came over and said "I'm running out of energies!"
The past few days if Sawyer gets hurt he says, "But don't worry, I'M TOUGH!"
The SECOND Sawyer gets home he starts to peel off clothes. I barely have my shoes off and he's already in underwear. He often asks, "Can I be naked when it's dark outside?"
I can't think of any more funny things off the top of my head, but they crack me up.

Skating
We are a bit of a sports family, so we watched as much of the Sochi Olympics the past 2 weeks as we could. Sawyer saw the speed skaters and liked it. I casually mentioned I should take him roller skating, and he had been asking every day since "Is today roller skating?"
I looked online and there was only weekend sessions (which wasn't ideal since Andy has work in the mornings) except the last Wednesday of the month is "homeschool skate" which is public. Luckily, that is the perfect day and the last Wednesday was coming up. He was so excited when we told him this morning that we were going today.
I haven't been skating since Andy and I started dating. I don't even think we were officially dating at that point. Our team at Pierce rented out Tiffany's as a family event. We all dressed like 70's as best we knew.
And also resulted in a hilarious fall when I tried to skate through Andy's legs
They did a little renovating since then (6 years ago) note the TV's in the center and the new shop and arcade.
We laced up and took turns staying with Kellan and the other taking Sawyer around. He loved it and kept telling me "I'm learning how to roller skate!" with the biggest smile. They make the kid skates really tight so he only fell a couple times.
And on the way home we stopped at Ted Brown for my birthday present- Andy signed me up for guitar lessons :D I am so excited to get back into music- it's been over 10 years since I've played an instrument (I played flute and oboe in elementary/junior high). They gave me a coupon for my lesson book and flashbacks to my early years when I used to get so excited when we were going to the music store made me happy.

Watching the races |
It was really fun!
Afterwards we went across the street for my favorite burgers from Five Guys
Ski bums
Yesterday my friend Federico got us tickets to the Alaska Airlines ski night at Snoqualmie. They buy out West and you can get tickets from an employee for like $13 a piece. (They are like $40 normally, plus no lines).
It was pelting tiny ice spheres that somehow managed to melt enough to just get stuck to your goggles then freeze again, where you can't see unless you scrape it off with your gloves. The snow between lifts was this crappy powder that was impossible for a skier to go through, but we got our money's worth x50 once we stuck to going down the lifts and not crossing over. When we did have to cross over, I had to snow plow in a weird way that wore out my quads so fast I had to stop every 20 feet to break.
I skied with my dad, and we met up with Andy in the middle at the lodge for some food. He brought his music and had planned to go off on his own since I had been skiing since I was 5 and he has a bad time when trying to keep up with us. He said he had the most fun he's ever had just going at his own pace and going off a little jump he found. I didn't crash, Andy was a self-described white ball of powder, and my dad "crashed" once in a funny puff of powder when he thought he'd goof off doing a weird back and forth move but ended up in that crappy powder I mentioned before and it took one of his skis off course, hehe.
It was fun, cold, and worth it once we discovered a lift with the best snow.

Andy wore a soccer jersey over his north face lol |

Is that Bode Miller? Nope, just me ;) |

Destiny's Baby Shower
Saturday was Destiny's baby shower! It was nice to see family and baby P got so many new things. I had been buying her clothes for awhile now, but I wanted to bring something, so I made some headbands from fabric and ribbons. The boys behaved, which was good since both of them were giving me attitude at home.1
This other baby wore overalls too |
That is not a baby, it is made of diapers :) |
He was so excited to get to take home some chips and tomatoes |

Twenty-seven
On Sunday I turned 27! It doesn't seem like a big birthday, but I always thought of that age as starting to get old so I guess I am old now.
Andy worked that day, but when he got home we went right out for dinner. I love all the email coupons you get on your birthday. I had a free entree at C.I. Shenanigans so we went for fancy dinner.
On the way home we stopped at coldstone to get a cake. We shared with Erik and Destiny before they had to get my parents from the airport (they went to Denver all week)
Andy got me a new shirt, a coral cardigan, and some adorable boat shoes (I love when he buys me things to wear), plus I GET TO SIGN UP FOR GUITAR LESSONS! :D My friend Jenna left that cupcake on my porch.
Not a big birthday, but not too shabby either :)

I wore a dress 3 days this week! |
The boys fell asleep but they love Kel's new seat because they can see each other |
Hard to see, but it was stormy out over the water, it was so pretty |
Grilled cheese as usual |
My delicious lobster stuffed ravioli |
Andy got a bacon wrapped filet mignon meatloaf |
Banana for scale |

Valentine's day 2014
We finally had a great Valentine's day, despite the fact that we've been sick. I was lucky enough to have THREE boys be my valentine :)
I took 2 hours of PTO so I could get off at a reasonable time (4:00) and the boys rode the bus up to get me. Lucky our new car seats came the day before so Andy didn't have to deal with that on the bus! He did get to deal with this:
They met me in Kirkland since I got off when their bus was still in Seattle, then we drove right back over the bridge to go back.
Here we are in line, but we barely had to wait at all- which was good because we didn't need to be out in the cold any longer than possible (luckily it wasn't too cold either)
We got on and we got our own box! I think they did that because it was v-day and still early. I think normally they would have put us with another couple since they fit 8 people.
We went around 4 times (one with stops, and 3 rotations without) and went to get food at the oyster bar. Kellan ate a lot of corn (we cut it off the cob)
Afterwards we drove to Alki to get the best view of Seattle at night. Seriously, my phone can't capture how pretty the view is. If there is one thing you do in Seattle, go to Alki at night for that view! We always try to go there if we aren't rushing back home for some reason.
I am so happy this Valentine's day went so well!

We went straight to the waterfront. We had bought tickets to ride the Great Wheel! They gave us a time slot, but we wanted to go as early as possible (I thought it might get busy on v-day). Sawyer was iffy at first, but eventually he got excited.
