Kellan's first Sounders game

This has nothing to do with the game but it was before we left and I thought it was cute.

Off to the game!

Kellan was a sweetie the whole game, didn't even make a peep!

They launched balloons off the top deck instead of streamers this game

It started to rain pretty hard, but we were dry because...

The roof was perfectly placed above us!

We pulled Kellan out of the ergo for the last 5 minutes because I was sore (I DID have a game the day before)

Someone didn't let the air out of their balloon and tied it instead.  Sawyer found it and proceeded to hit every single person walking up the stairs with it.  They all thought he was funny.

For the first time we splurged and paid the bike trailer guys to drive us back to our car.  We had the kids, I was sore, Sawyer had too-big boots, and it was pouring.  Plus we parked pretty far.  It was definitely worth the money and was kind of fun.

This weather has been nuts!  There was actually a tornado not far from our house at the Boeing plant (I pass it on the way to work).  A friend of mine's window in their truck got blown out, it knocked over a train car, and broke part of a roof!

Monsoon game

Y'know how it is usually really warm until the middle of October every year?  Not this one.  It changed this week.

Now, I am a fan of this colder weather usually.  I like to wear sweatshirts and yoga pants and have blankets on when I am relaxing.  After this weather where you kind of just had to lay there sweating, or get too hot walking to your car, it was a bit of a relief.  It is not awesome, however, if you are planning to take pictures and have a rugby game.

Our pictures were postponed to next week but we can't make it because Andy's race/Oktoberfest so we had to push it to the 19th.  :(  Rugby on the other hand, waits for no one.

We got there to a monsoon at 10:30 because our coach wanted to talk about some new plays for the backs.  We huddled under cover until 11:15ish when we had to start setting up the field.  After that we started warming up.  Luckily it wasn't really cold, just wet.  We were all SOAKED.  Bend showed up and didn't even leave their cars until game time which they then told the ref they didn't have a car make it because of traffic so they needed 15 minutes for them to arrive.  I brought a spare pair of cleats and new socks so I was toasty right before the game.  It didn't last long though.

I played wing and did ok and got a few tackles and ran a few times.  I somehow jammed my thumb and the newly-aerated field brought up the sand and our knees were all torn to shreds.  It was a lot of dropped balls and sliding around and a lot of puddles and it was pretty fun.  Neither side had numbers so we played with just 15 each...we actually played 14 the second half because someone had to go to work.  We still won 34-5.  Sawyer was cold from playing before the game so Andy bundled him in blankets wearing just his undies and a jacket without a shirt and he sat nicely in the stroller.  Kellan was in the Ergo wearing an adorable bear outfit.  We peeled our clothes off afterwards and threw them straight into the wash.  My sweatshirt weighed like 20 lbs.

happy and dry

There I run

I didn't make it too far, do you like how my hair is parallel to the ground?

Not sure what I'm doing there, I'm 11

Winners, 34-5

Sits

Kellan sits pretty well now unless he gets distracted so I thought I'd better put it in the ol' blog.

I decided to take a video after he'd been sitting for awhile

And here is a still picture.  His fuzzy hair is so funny to me.

In a lot more terrible news, I had to go to the dentist today (my least favorite spot) and they had to prescribe me prescription toothpaste to try to get the sensitivity out of the 2nd back tooth that is SUPER sensitive to cold or hot so much that I still have some cement from my braces on there because the air blowing on it made me scream. I was relieved to find that there wasn't any cavities  or anything of the sort that was causing that.  Sawyer was a champ too, even sitting in the hallway nicely when they needed to take x-rays for me.  Hopefully this toothpaste helps because I have to have the water a perfect warmth to brush my teeth which is really annoying!

iPhone, Portland, Laundry

It was a long weekend.  It always seems like it though- I guess that's a good thing :)

Friday was iPhone launch, which means 11 hour shifts and non-stop customers.  We opened at 8am too so we had to be there at 7...which meant I had to leave at 6:10.  Saying it was a long day is an understatement, but at least Alex's girlfriend made delicious cupcakes (s'mores and chocolate).
The sunrise from the parking lot.  Mt. Rainier decided to wear a hat.

yum-o
Saturday morning we had to head to Portland because I had a rugby (or as Sawyer calls it, rubby or bubby) game.  We only had 14 players (15 play) and they are a good team.  We were a man down with no subs but they only scored once the first half.  The second half we had someone get sin binned 10 minutes for a high tackle (we had been warned) and as soon as she got back in we had someone else high tackle which resulted in a red card so we were 2 down and they had subbed people in that had fresh legs.  It was a long 80 minutes and I was exhausted!  They won by quite a bit after the second half unfortunately.  The rain let up during the game and it was actually pretty hot out.  It started to pour the second the game was over.  What luck!
The 14 of us plus injured Leslie
Afterwards we headed through Portland to the outlets.  I remembered my purse leather was peeling away and needed a new one and they had a Coach outlet (tax free) and I snagged a new one for only $115 (originally like $400) and Sawyer got an "El chupaca-cabra" (El Chupacabra is a character in Planes) he was so good in the car and at the game he deserved it.  He didn't even sleep in the car.

He doesn't look happy because he is going down for a nap
Afterwards we were starving and we found a Fuddruckers.  I had only been there once when I was like 14 and it was in Montana...or Wyoming...or something on the way to Colorado.  I was pleased though, they let you put on your own toppings and even had melty cheese we dipped the fry wedges in.  The onion rings were awesome too.
The farmers market produce bar

fresh baked buns too
Kellan even ate a burger!  Just kidding, he ate socks.

...and Andy ate Kellan

Just kidding again, he had a burger too.  The drive home was not bad, Sawyer barely said a word which was good because he likes to have conversations in the car that are really quiet and he gets mad that we can't understand him.

Today I did laundry all day.  I am so sore, but we have so dang much laundry that piles up that I needed to take care of.  I am happy to say it is all clean and there is nothing left in the hallway...though Kellan's stuff is neither folded nor hung up.  Progress though.

Kellan was a big help.

Actually he just drooled and moaned all day so much that I had to put a bib on him.  We all have a nasty cold and he's turned into a drool and snot factory.  I'm hoping it gets better before I have to take them to the doc AGAIN.  We have been there way too many times this year.

Sawyer jumped on the bed as usual but made me take pictures.  It cracked me up that the tongue on his shirt would fly around.

These guys got haircuts today too :)  We have pictures next week so I wanted Sawyer to get a pro to cut it instead of our hack job buzz cuts.  He was so good and just sat still the whole time that Andy took him to get chocolate milk after :)

It is the first day of fall and it behaved like it.  It has been a hot dry summer and this week the rain decided to come back.  It actually is turning the dead things green again and makes everything smell so good and fresh that I don't mind it.  I think it's time to get out the fall decor soon :)  Happy Fall!

Doin' the Puyallup...er...Washington State Fair '13

On Wednesday we done did the Puyallup.  Though, they changed the name to the "Washington State Fair" but the tagline is still "Do the Puyallup."

It is the same old fair, but it is still just as awesome and nostalgic as it was the year before and before and all the way back as young as I can remember (except that first year of college when I was in LV.)

I got off early because it was Wednesday and Andy got off early so that we could go on a weekday (smaller lines).  We did the normal-eat scones, earthquake burgers, and krusty pups, went on rides (Sawyer anyway), saw some animals, and took in the sights.  Sawyer LOVED the rides this year except he got a little scared on the firetruck one since it kind of tickles your stomach on the way down.  Luckily the lady let me go on with him without having to take tickets for me so I was there to calm him.

He loved his scone but was giving me a funny look

Strawberry scone!

Me and Sawyer on the giant slide

He was SOOOO excited to drive this car

I loved this ride best when I was small

Andy at Earthquakes

The only fries he got were on his shirt

Earthquakes!

We made the massager go and Andy laughed for 5 minutes at Sawyer's surprised face

Sawyer and a goat

I think this was his favorite because he could make it go up and down with the steering wheel

up high

There we are

This one made me sick.  I think Andy will be the ride buddy unless it is the giant slide from now on

Some lady commented on his Krusty Pup and he yelled at her "He called it a Krussy Pop, it's a corn dog!" (Everyone is a "he" since he doesn't know the difference)

My kid eats corn dogs weird
