Brace Face!

I got my new grill. I would bite one of the brackets off one of my teeth so the worst part of the whole deal is that they had to put 2 bumps on my teeth (made out of that fake tooth stuff they use for fillings and chipped teeth. And they put them on each side so I can only bite down on those 2 tiny bumps.  I cannot close my mouth and I sound like I am wearing 80's style headgear!  I cannot chew anything that I can't squish with my tongue because there are no teeth to chew with.  I also can't say "s" or "sh" or "ch" normal.  Oh and the inside of my mouth is getting torn up from all the pokey things.  As you can see, it has not been a pleasant experience so far.  It thought the worst would be figuring out how to eat bread and other things that would get stuck inside, but I can see it is going to be a lot worst than that for awhile until these stupid bumps get to be grinded down again.  My next appt is in 6 weeks so hopefully they will have moved enough by then to get the bumps off...but I am not holding my breath.  The plus side is maybe I will get super skinny on this liquid diet lol today I had orange-ade for breakfast, a coconut mocha for lunch, and a packet of mashed potatoes for dinner!  I also won't be able to bite my nails which is going to drive me crazy since my front teeth can't come together.  I just dont like using nail clippers on my fingers for some reason.  I guess we will see how it continues to go- hopefully it is all "up" from here!
Don't mind my hair- i was just out in the rain for 2 hours.

Whew

I feel like we have been overwhelmed lately, but that not much has gone on enough to blog about. I think it will be a series of little things that don't relate as usual.

I think it is getting warmer out.  The cherry blossoms in the mini-park across our street came out and I have seen daffodils sprouting. This is good news because I am not doing well in the cold and our power bill has been extreme because it needs to be at least 70 wherever I am.

I also had my first "game" yesterday where I had to play the whole time (no subs).  We played Eugene for a half and Seattle Breakers for a half in a round robin thing.  It was fun but I don't think i have ever been so sore in my life!  I think playing "lock" in a scrum is like the hardest thing out there- getting pulled in every direction! I had fun and I got a couple tackles at least.  One of the teams was HUGE though and I seriously wrapped around a girl and she drug me a ways just me holding onto her shorts- it was actually really funny but i slowed her down enough for someone else to get her.  We tied Eugene and got dominated by Seattle but it is ok because they are solid teams and we are brand new.
Theres my dumb head wrap tape I had to put on to save my ears from cauliflower ear.  It seriously made me dizzy so i am loosening that thing up next time.

There is me and a girl from Eugene reaching for the ball. You do that when it goes out of bounds- the person throwing it in has to throw in the middle.
Sawyer has been a bit of a handful going everywhere he knows he isnt supposed to be.  He loves standing, but hates it once he is up there.  It is also stressful because sometimes he tries to move somewhere he doesn't have a good grip to and falls down a lot and we can't catch him everytime.  It makes me so sad to see him hit his head!  Here he is with a fake mustache i got out of a vending machine:

I can't think of anything else, but tomorrow I get braces so look forward to that one.... :-/

Photos

I edited some of the pictures we took on our fun photoshoot during my mentoring session.  This stuff is so fun to me, I hope I get the chance to do this more often.  If any of you want pictures taken, I could use some more practice- just let me know :)  This was a girl named Kenadee that was the niece of the lady (Andee) I did mentoring with.

U-tall

I didn't have wi-fi in Utah at all, so I apologize for the super long post. I just didn't want to spread it out over a few posts because it is all related....sooo...without further ado, here is the Utah part of our trip.

Wednesday:
We arrived Wednesday to Salt Lake.   It was a crazy drive, we had to chain up over Donner pass and it was ridiculous- we had to go 30 mph and it was so snowy and icy it was scary!
There is Andy fiddling with the chains we had to buy at a gas station.
We got to Grandma and Grandpa Monson's (Andy's dad's parents) house the middle of the day.  I love their house because it is really old and looks haunted inside.  It is huge with 5 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bathrooms.
We showered up and went to go to Aunt Laura's house to visit Grandma Cox.  I had not met Grandma Cox yet (Andy's mom's mom) and neither had Sawyer.  We met up with Megan and Andrew (cousins) there and Megan's dad was there as well as Ayshia (she stayed with us for a week last year) as well as her dad Jeremy (andy's cousin) that I hadn't met yet.  We had a good visit with Grandma Cox and she kept asking why Sawyer's hair was so blond and we had to remind her that Andy was really blond growing up :) and went to Chili's afterwards with Megan and Andrew. We love chilis! (And we love Megan and Andrew lol)

Thursday:
We got to sleep in, then we went for a drive.  We went down to Sandy to check out Andy's old house.  His old street barely escaped being demolished for the Real Salt Lake stadium!  At the end of his road is literally the fence for the stadium!
My phone kind of distored it, but you can see the stadium right at the end of the road!  We spent that night at the Bellamy's house and watched basketball.

Friday:
This was my mentoring session with Andee from Crave Photography.  We got there nice and early and she taught me some editing and then we went on a shoot with her niece Kennadee.  It was a lot of fun!  I will do a post just of that part because I have a lot of pictures to share. After the mentoring we went and hung out with Jenny and a lot of the other Tomkinsons in Provo.  It was really fun!!!

Saturday:
We were so sad to go back home :(  We said our goodbyes to Grandma and Grandpa Monson

We hopped in the car and headed up the mountain to Evanston, WY.  A couple minutes as we started up the hill it started snowing.  What a funny opposite to our warm first day in Sacramento!  We headed up to the ranch to see Nicole and her kids, and Elise stopped by (Andy's cousins).  We had a nice visit with them but we had to leave soon to go home.
We made a stop in Woodruff, UT where Andy's mom's family grew up and he spent time as a kid.  We stopped at the house.

Then, we went to go meet Grandpa Cox at the Woodruff Cemetary.
We think Sawyer is looking up to him in heaven in this picture ;)  He didn't last long for some really good pictures because it was cold and probably haunted because he kept crying a lot :(
We hit the road and made it back to Puyallup around 8:30 our time.

We had so much fun on our vacation visiting family and we are sad to go back to the old routine.  Well, I dont know how normal it will be, they just announced today that my company, at&t, bought out T-mobile so sounds like a new adventure is brewing there... :-/

Here are a few things Sawyer did while on vacation:
-Popped his top 2 teeth out
-Learned to crawl up on everything (very annoying)
-Learned to say mamamamama all day instead of babababa.  Then changed to mabamabamaba.  Then changed to just say mamama mostly when around me and not every person or item in sight.  We will see how long that lasts though lol.
-Learned to wave
-Learned to push all buttons with just his thumb, and not his whole hand
It was a big week for him too, and he was such a good baby sleeping the WHOLE time in the car for the 11 hours to Sacramento, then 11ish to Salt Lake, then like 16 to WY and home.

Sacramento and San Francisco

We left Friday night to head to Sacramento.  Sawyer was a good boy and slept the whole way.  We had a slight mis-hap at the first rest area.  Sawyer had a small blow out, there were no changing tables, and the bathroom floor was disgusting.  Luckily they were single bathrooms because it was a 2 person job.  Andy drove through the night while I took random naps.  We had to stop twice for Andy to take 30 minute naps though at 2 different rest areas.
The rest area- note his wet area lol

We arrived to a sunny Sacramento the next morning.  Aunt Stacy and Cousin Zoee were waiting with Papa Sam.  They were so excited to see Sawyer, especially Zoee.  She played with him and fed him all day.
Zobug feeding Sawyer, with aunt Stacy in the background

That night we went to a delicious mexican restaurant for Zoee's 11th birthday.  It was so cute because she wanted Sawyer at the kid's table so he sat there with them like he was a little person :)

This morning (Sunday) we drove to San Francisco.  We basically just drove through the town, on a really curvy road, and stopped at the Golden Gate Bridge.   We walked across half of it but it started raining (though it was still really warm!) and it was windy. It was a fun little date while Grandma and Papa took him to church to meet new friends.  It was fun :)  Here a just a few pictures of today:

Alcatraz (dont know how to spell that lol)

The house was straight up and down- look how steep the hill was

Lombard street- we drove down it :) Look how swirly it is!

Packed city!

I decided I'd never want to move to San Francisco.  It is SO packed.  If you look at that pic above, it is a small small portion of the town.  It is a huge town with NO space between houses or businesses!  The only breaks are for streets...it was ridiculous!

Tomorrow we are in for the Jelly Belly factory!

Lately

I feel like I haven't really updated on the goings-on lately via blog so here is my attempt, picture free since I am at work.

-Andy's mom has been in town the past few days, which has been a big help!  She just loves spending time with Sawyer, it seems like he never gets put down lol.

-We got to eat at my favorite restaurant, Black Angus, baby free.  It was awesome.  I think I could eat like 20 oz. of the filet mignon there but I hold myself back to 6 oz.  We also got a free dessert from joining the prime club, and the chocolate cake there is my favorite!

-Everyone in the house has been sick.  Andy has had to miss a couple days of school and work.  He has needed the rest because he will be driving all night.  Sawyer's nose is all drippy and he seems a bit more whiney than normal.  Again, just in time for our trip!

-Sawyer is getting more skilled, he finally pulled himself up on his crib this morning (not sure if it was the shape of it or what but he has had some issues).  It was cute going in to get him and he was just standing there smiling at me.  He is also trying to talk, going bababababa in different tones like he was talking in sentences.  It is so cute :)  We also can get him to "wave" aka bounce his arms up and down, if you wave to him in the same way and say bye bye.  His top teeth are about to burst, you can see white lumps there about to break skin.  I am hoping that is where his runny nose is from, because Andy's cold has been a major issue, like sneezing blood....dont want to deal with that on a baby.

-Tonight we will drive all night to Sacramento.  We picked the night because Sawyer sleeps in cars and he sleeps all night so it would be the best way to not have to make him bottles all the way, not have him trying to get out of his straps, and to have him on his normal schedule.  I am hoping Andy makes it with his cold.  He is planning to come home today early and take a long nap so he can last all night.  And lots of caffeine.  He has been so sleepy with his cold I am worried.  I dont want to have to drive because i have a fear of driving where I dont know, and I cannot see well in the dark, or stay awake well.

-I haven't packed for all of us yet, but I think it will be funny packing everything Sawyer owns.  He has the tendency to make messes and we will need back-ups.  I hope our suitcases fit in the trunk.

-We will be taking the car down which means less space.  BUT gas milage will be WAY better.  Gas prices conveniently sky rocketed right before our trip :(

Ok I cannot think of anything else but hopefully I will have access to internet next week. This should be interesting!
