Kellan's blessing

Since we were having Sawyer's birthday the same day, we had some family up for Kellan's blessing.  It was nice having them up and great-grandpa Monson did the blessing.  Sawyer behaved pretty well apart from asking "Can we go home yet?" every 5 minutes.

Zoo and date night

Today my mom took Sawyer and me to the zoo for his upcoming birthday.  Andy's mom watched Kellan for us (she has been awesome and babysat for us all week.  She even takes Kellan at night so we have been sleeping all night. We are so thankful!)

First we saw the meerkats

 And played on toys

 We saw polar bears

and watched them feed the otters shrimp and fish.  They were so cute.
One of Sawyer's favorites was seeing the seals.  He stood there forever and ran back and forth with them.
 He also loved the walruses.

 The aquarium was another favorite.

I think the big tank was his favorite of the day.  He was there for like 10 minutes laughing and pointing out the different fish and sharks.
He was excited to see Dori and Nemos
 and big sharks.
My mom had too much fun trying to teach him to roll down the hill,
but he just took off and ran back and forth as usual.

Sawyer took this picture of a monkey grabbing some food from the bucket

And he got a new truck with meerkats on it.

So much fun!

When we got back, Andy's mom took the boys to uncle Davey and Titi's and we got a date night.

First we went to the waterfront in Tacoma to Katie Downs.  We sat outside and it was perfect- the sun was setting so it wasn't too hot or bright.  They had little heat lamps too so it never got chilly.
I know, you can barely see us

Then we went to Shake Shake Shake for some milkshakes.  The place is cute and looks like an old school malt shop.  It has a milkshake bar in the middle.  I ordered a Tiger shake (almond roca, salted caramel and peanut butter) and Andy had banana mocha malt.  Both were delicious!

We got back and Sam had arrived from Sacramento.  Tomorrow is getting ready for Sawyer's birthday!

2 month check-up

Kellan had his 2 month check-up today which meant shots.  :(  Poor guy.  He actually started crying when we put him on the weighing table, but was really good for Dr. Knowles.  His skin is clearing up, and she accurately guessed the weeks he had the bumps so it was very normal that he was bumpy last week and the week before.  He weighed 13.1 (or 4, we both heard differently) lbs (75 percentile) and is 25 inches (95 percentile.)  He grew 3 inches this month which explains why he is already getting tight in the snaps of the 3 month clothes.  He is a little grouchy from the shots, he will just be laying there then randomly cry out.

Big boy band-aids.  He was not happy getting jabbed in the legs.

USMNT world cup qualifier match vs. Panama

Yep, we headed up to Seattle once again for the 4th time this week.  We were really lucky to find a parking spot.  A lot of the loading decks of buildings are no park zones until 6:00 and luckily we got there at 5:55 (close enough).  Phew!  There was a Mariners game at the same time so I was worried about parking, even though it was a Tuesday and M's games are weak on weeknights.

I think the M's fans were probably like "WTF is going on?" there were US fans everywhere and everyone was dressed up.  It was awesome.  I am sure they heard us at Safeco. We met up with the Bickmores, which were sad to see that all the places had sold out of scarves.  It wasn't a problem though because they gave out free scarves to everyone!  Heck yes!  I still wore mine that we got at the last US match we went to 4 years ago, but got a free one and even a spare for Sawyer (they threw 2 at me on accident and said I could keep it).

We were at the top section, but it was still an awesome atmosphere and our section stood for half the game. It was awesome yelling "USA! USA!" with 40,846 other people, and they did a few other modified Sounders chants as well like the Boom Boom Clap.  There were members of the USMNT that said we were the best crowd they have ever seen in the US!  Awesome.  We ended up winning 2-0 with one of the goals by Sounders' own Eddie Johnson.  It was so fun and we liked getting to hang out with the Bickmores.

Aunt Karla isn't in it because she said it was "soccer fans only" but she did end up having a lot of fun at the match.  Oh, and I'm wearing a sweatshirt with a mens XL jersey so I'm not as fat as I appear in this photo LOL
