Zumba

So one thing i was looking forward to doing after I had sawyer was going back to LA fitness to take advantage of the aerobic classes.  I had done Zumba and Hip Hop there before i was pregnant, but as soon as i found out i had a bun in the oven was when i started feeling so crappy i would just have to lay on the couch as soon as i got home from work.  By the time i felt good again, it was 4 months where they have the "no jerky exercising" rule starts and that is all dancing is.  I even had a plan with my boss to do the Zumba classes pretty much daily over there (our work is in the same parking lot as LA fitness) They were also sending me emails saying "we want you back so we will waive the initiation fees and let you pay less."  One problem: Andy decided to start school and they did not offer online classes at all in the upper level classes.  That means i come home from work and it is just me and the Bean until nighttime.  Since i am pretty sure he is too small for their daycare, and i dont want to have to pay, we are s.o.l. for awhile.  A little depressing, considering my only "craving" was orange hi-c from mcdonalds (and the occasional oreo-reece's mcflurry), so we were frequent fliers there...and it all went straight to my thighs :(

Imagine my reaction when i turned on the TV last week and saw a commercial for zumba. DUH! I didnt even think about buying the DVD's.  I ran in the computer room and bought them within seconds.  They arrived a few days ago, complete with maraca weights. (Thats right, they have maraca shakers on the ends) I started this week, but today was the first day i was solid.  The first day was late so i only did the express version.  Yesterday was my first time doing "cardio party" so i spent half the time learning the movements and trying to get my hips into it at the same time.  Today was a lot better. But i realized a few things about the home DVD version:
-I will have to do the same dances every single day.  I imagine this will get kind of lame after awhile, even though it came with 5 DVD's.
-It is harder to stay motivated when you arent in a room of people that you dont want to look stupid in front of by doing anything less than full-on effort.
-The people on the DVD's are pro dancers and i feel like i am terrible compared to them...at the gym everyone was equal or worse than me including the instructor so i felt acceptable there.
-Our duplex living room is not the optimal space to move around
------the positives though:------
-I dont have to worry about people i know seeing me and laughing
-I dont have to get here early to try and find a spot away from the windows
-I dont have to try and be a "good person" by not laughing at the very obese women with no rhythm...i know that is terrible but it is hilarious to watch and i dont want to laugh because i am proud of them for getting off the couch to lose weight
-I can do it whatever time i please

So yeah, it kicked my butt.  I did not think about the fact that my larger body that hasnt exercised for a year would not be the exact same.  I also noticed i have the joints of an 80-year-old.  My knees are killing me and it just adds to my wrists that have been killing ever since i had to carry the Bean around.  Hopefully in a month or so i can see some difference :) I finally was able to put on my old non-stretch jeans, but they are too tight to wear comfortably still :(

Bumbo

We got the Bumbo today! Thanks Nicole (and Megan and Elise and Cay). It took 2 targets and we nabbed the last one in a color that wasnt pink or purple lol!  Not quite sure his head is ready for full-time Bumbo-ing, but we are going to practice.  I can hold him and he can keep his head up, and he can hold himself up and his head is strong, but we have yet to master the sitting up head holding up. Here he is:

And here he is while he is sneezing lol. Lucky picture ;)

And here is another picture for fun that i found cute holding daddy's hand.  His hands are so small they barely wrap around his finger! It would be like me grabbing andy's arm!

Figured out the video camera

We have taken a few videos (thanks for the camera mom), but haven't gotten around to putting them on the computer until today.  I started a youtube account so i can post some videos here from now on.

Here is Sawyer yelling at us today:

Here he is just laying around on his tummy

I'm going to upload the others we have later but they are pretty long so they'd take forever tonight.

Creepy Monkey

Since Erik is in town, we went over to Destiny's parent's house for dinner with my parents.  It was pretty funny, but we discovered the creepiest stuffed monkey.  It has a base layer of fuzz, then some hairs that stick up, making it look like it went through chemo or something.  After finding 5 batteries, we discovered it also makes creepy noises (not cute ones, but ones like you would hear a real monkey in the jungle make) and move one eye and mouth if you push its disgusting belly button.  It even had 4 baby teeth.

The worst part was that Cooper actually loved it, and gave it kisses.  We are hoping they weren't actually kisses, but just biting his rubber nose since he is teething.

Another thing I havent posted yet is that Sawyer has lately been just about sleeping through the night.  He used to wake up every 3 hours when he was first born, then started sleeping until about 4:45 to eat.  After that he would wake up every 3 hours to eat and then immediately sleep again until about noon.  The past couple nights he has slept until 7:30 before he needs to eat....which if it is a weekday i can consider sleeping "through the night" because that is when i wake up lol.  On weekends he still has to eat then before he goes back to sleep and sleeps until like 11.  The reason i post this now though, is that i just read in my email about Enfamil making a "sleep" formula that makes them stay fuller longer so they sleep longer.  I think i am going to get this now because we normally dont go to bed until midnight, but if i want to go to bed earlier, i'm going to need this to make him sleep until 7 again haha.  I want him to start sleeping in his crib, but i dont want him in another room unless i know he isn't going to wake up.

I thought this was cute the other night right before bed...excuse the very crappy camera:

He loves our bed. He always smiles when i first put him on my pillow like that, and sometimes when he gets up to eat at 7 he cries a little afterwards and i just plop him in the bed and he falls asleep again until it is time to wake up. (Not on my pillow of course, dont want to suffocate him)

Picture day!

Today Andy got a haircut, then we went to pay rent.  I wanted to get some baby lotion that actually works plus smells good while we were in Tacoma (they pretty much just have it at babies r us as far as i know but its like $14-ugh!), and then decided since we were there, we went to UPS (University of Puget Sound, not United Parcel Service) to take some pictures.  Next time we need to bring someone else though, because we were having a hard time finding a place to put the camera on timer-mode to get us all in the picture.  After, my brother came into town because of the long weekend and he, Destiny, and Cooper came over for the soccer game.  Here are some of my favorite pictures after editing some (i took like 150 lol)

Pictures!

So, I have been working on learning Gimp lately.  I want to get good at picture editing and i think i have come quite a long way.  If you dont know what Gimp is, it is like photoshop but the free version (photoshop is like $700) and you can download it at gimp.org.  It is pretty cool.  I dont really know people that do this stuff though so i have been teaching myself and i am pretty excited at how far i have come.  Here are two samples of befores and afters that i did today (i'm pretty sure you can click on the pictures on here and they get bigger...pretty sure they look better bigger):

This is actually pretty fun and i hope to get a lot better!  Here are a few more pictures from today in black and white. I stuck bean in his laundry basket and made him take pictures.  He wasn't too pleased with that :)

What would they do without me?

Few random thoughts:

Today was inventory day at work.  It was totally messed up, just as i expected.  Also, the drawers where we keep all the accessories were nowhere near organized. Normally we keep everything of the same brand together ex: samsung drawer, iphone drawer, car chargers get their own, etc.  I found random car chargers everywhere.  Anyone who has ever done inventory knows how bad this sucks.  First you count everything with the gun, then you print out the variances and go back and look for those items that you might have mis-counted.  When they arent in the same spot, it is impossible to find!  I was there at 7am and had to leave at 1 to go get Sawyer when my mom left for work.  When i left, we still hadnt finished researching the variances, there was a huge stack of deliveries to check in, and i hadnt done my daily paperwork. Luckily my boss is awesome and said she had no problem finishing. Phew.  Now yesterday was a mess too with 35 missing phones (1 phone missing is a big deal) that i had to dig through a box that they shouldnt have been in and it took me an hour! We still had 2 we cant figure out.  Plus 55 sim cards missing or on accounts and not sold out which means i have to go in and sell each one out on the account of the owner which takes forever.  I decided next baby i am coming in an hour a day to prevent this stuff from happening and just taking the baby with me!  My position was fairly new (it started about 2 months after i got my job 2 years ago) and i have no idea how they ran a store without us.

Another random thing: A couple weeks ago i decided i was going to gauge my ears (not a ton, but maybe to like a size 2 or 0 which isnt big at all).  A couple days later was our anniversary and andy bought me earrings that were SUPER pretty.  Now i cant stretch them or the earrings wont fit.  Im not really one to think everything happens for a reason, but i think it does sometimes.  Maybe this was one of those times lol.  Maybe my ears would have stayed that big.  They say the "point of no return" is usually a size 2 or 0 but my skin tends to stay.  I wore giant troll earrings in like 2nd grade and once it ripped a little.  That ear could hold like 4 earrings at once forever (it is still a bit bigger than my other ear).  Also i took my bellybutton ring out when i was pregnant and as soon as i had him, it went right back in! Hmm maybe now that is why i still have a muffin top of skin from sawyer stretching out my skin lol.

Last thought of the day: I REALLY want to go to chopstix.  The only time i went was at my bachelorette party and we were all wanting to go again soon but i was pregnant like 2 months later and even if you arent drinking, i think it looks bad to be pregnant in a bar lol.  If you dont know what chopstix is, its a piano bar with 2 guys on the pianos that know pretty much every song ever invented (they'll play the Beatles, then Garth Brooks, then Lady Gaga...its awesome).  You get to request songs (if you put money with the requests they play them, otherwise you have to wait until it is late or maybe not at all) and everyone sings along and goes up and dances on the stage and stuff.  When it was my bachelorette party they had me go up and sit on the piano and they sang me a song.  It was really fun!  Its on 6th ave in tacoma where all the other bars/clubs are too.  We just need someone to watch Bean lol. They have family night on Sundays where you dont have to be 21, but it would not be much fun if it was the kid-friendly version lol. Thursday nights is no cover charge and $3 drinks for the ladies but who wants to go out late the night before a work day :-/  Anywho, if anyone wants to go please let me know!  I'm getting antsy lol.

Ok enough thoughts for today, until next time!
