End of March

Am I getting worse at this?  I think I am.  I realized this when I had to go so far back in my phone to get the pictures for updates. Ahhhh, sorry :(

So the latest: Janelle has been on bed rest so the kids have gone to different childcare.  The past week or two they have been going to someone from preschool's house and Sawyer LOVES Brooklyn.  He keeps wanting to do things to make her happy and talks about her non-stop.  It is the sweetest thing.  She also has a brother Kellan's age, but Kellan tends to stick to the big kids.

Here is the past couple weeks:

I hit my March goal  of doing a pull up on my own!  No more bands to hang from the bars to help me up!  Even better, I did 39 in a WOD the other day!  Go me!  We have also made the "sock Saturday" an official tradition at the gym.

I took the kids to a restaurant by myself and they behaved like perfect angels SHOCKER!

I went shooting quite a few more times.  I'm not sure why I love it so much but I found out Paul Bunyan has ARCHERY!  So yeah, next time as long as it is daylight, I'm taking my bow.

I got new lifting shoes and socks in the mail.  The lifters help me but also hurt my feet so I'm going to have to try them a few more times before I decide whether to sell them or not.

Saturday was KC's birthday and she had a lumberjack theme.  I went with her to buy decorations and it was her first time buying fabric.  We were SEVENTEENTH in line.  I came back to find her sitting in the store like this and had to take a picture.  She got so excited when her number got called, the entire crowd of people waiting started dying laughing.

The gym ended up looking pretty cool.  We have the log (you lift it) and the fake grass strip (you push the sleds on it) so that worked out nice.  It was really fun, we did a ton of line dancing, which is like my new favorite thing.

If you know KC, you'll know she LOVES donuts.  This is her face when she found out the cake Jenna bought was make of donuts

I am pale. Those leg muscles though. (KC, Amanda Joy, Me, Bev)

I caught Sawyer giving Kellan a kiss at Walmart.  He is so sweet.

I taught Kellan a goofy face

We got a new ninja blender since Davey finally came and got his.  Every day this week I've had a giant smoothie, and I actually really like them now.  I include: a banana, apple, blueberries, spinach, cutie, yellow pepper, squash and/or cucumber, chia seeds, tomato, and a small amount of water.  I am hoping I start to feel a lot better and energetic since I've not been much of a vegetable person before.  It looks like sludge but doesn't taste bad at all.  It's not Jamba Juice, but it's not V8 either so I'm happy.  It's a lot easier to drink it too than to gnaw on vegetables.  I am not a snacker at all, so eating often isn't natural to me.  Hopefully I keep up with this because it is an easy breakfast that lasts throughout the day too.  I just bring 2 eggs and a sandwich and I'm set for the day at work.

March (Friday!) the 13th

This was another busy week as usual.  I told my guitar teacher I think this is my last month for awhile since I'm not able to practice as much as I'd like, and it would be another $100 that could go towards the new car (see below).  It was quite fun though!

Saturday after everyone had showered after the gym, I went and shot a shotgun which hurt but was SO fun!  After that, some of us met up at the Rainier View Winery which is like 2 miles from my house but I had no idea it was there.  You get a glass and 5 decent sized tastes for $10.  I am not really a wine drinker but I really liked the Strawberry and Blueberry ones.  Leah and I even bought a separate glass of the blueberry since it was so good.  We were pretty giggly after that, seeing as the wines there are bout 18% but don't taste like it.  It was SOOOO much fun hanging out with everyone outside of the gym and was weird seeing everyone in normal clothes.

lol i have no idea why my arm looks so huge! I guess squishing those big muscles in the wrong way does that

Me and Leah

THe place was pretty cute

After that, we wanted to shoot the pistol but, well, Leah and I were not in any state to handle a gun so we went and watched Pretty Little Liars at TJ's house while he slept (he works graveyard).  We were feeling better so we went and Leah got to shoot for the first time, and I did pretty well for my second, considering it was a wine day.  I hit the targets at least.  We had time to shoot like half a box before they closed at 10.
heh I probably looked ridiculous in a dress but luckily nobody else was there

Not too shabby
On our way back Andy called and said Edrease couldn't go to the soccer game so conveniently I asked Leah and TJ if either wanted to go the next day. TJ said he could go thank goodness!

The next morning we headed to Subaru to get Andy a new car since the Pathfinder died.  We decided on a Forester (my parents have one and it is nice).  It is so cool, like no blind spots, GIANT sunroof, and even has a back up camera.  It was my cousin Emily's birthday party so I took the kids and peaced out while Andy signed papers for awhile knowing I'd have to leave the party early.  I had fun seeing the family!
Pip's so cute

The kids got to see chickens and I even pet one (which is a big deal since I'm afraid of birds)

Piper drove a car, it was so cute

New whip

I had to leave early (luckily we had 2 cars) and headed to watch the first Sounders game of the season.  The Sounders dominated New England 3-0!  It was really fun!  I'm glad TJ came because he's kind of loud/obnoxious but that is ideal at the Sounders game.  He even got a song card to sing along (I have most the songs down).

They finally opened the Trappers sushi in Sunrise village!

I also took another pic a couple months after my first one.  I was flexing in both, you can definitely see more muscles and looks like my waist shrunk a little according to how baggy the shirt is.

I got new Nanos, women's this time.  They aren't hurting my feet and fit a little better in the toe since I wasn't trying to fit into the smallest men's size (still too big)

I went pistol shooting again last night.  I did pretty well.

The best part is we had been shooting really close, but just for fun we put a target out 38 yards (you can barely see it, especially in the dark) and we both took 5 shots each at it.  I got 4 on the target (2 in black) and TJ got one right at the top almost off the paper.  He could not believe it (frankly I couldn't either, especially since he's so much better than me at the close targets) but to prove it wasn't a fluke, we shot more and again, I did awesome!  I labeled all of my holes with an A (the ones in the black were mine) but at least he hit it a few times.

I am like obsessed with shooting now.  I used to be so afraid of guns, but now I think it is so fun, and I like the smell of the smoke, haha!

Week in review: beginning of March

Once a week is respectable, right?  Right.

Ok.

So last Friday was the start of the Crossfit open.  Everyone all over the country does the same workout that they announce once a week.  If you paid to sign up, you get on a leaderboard.  I didn't want to waste my money because I can't even do the scaled versions half the time so I would never have a chance of progressing (you start by entering your score and move up until the winners are in the crossfit games you see on ESPN).  It was pretty exciting cheering the people that signed up though.  Kellan was cheering for me when I did my first one.  It was a 15 minute AMRAP (as many reps as possible) of 15 toes to bar, 10 deadlifts, and 5 snatches.  It was really fun but killed your hands.

The next day we went to Bellevue for a laser appointment and we went to the Lunchbox Laboratory for lunch which has like the best burgers ever.

apples in ketchup

We got home and my friend TJ took me to go shooting at a shooting range for my first time.  It was terrifying (I am so scared of guns) but I loved it!!!  I got to shoot a rifle, a pistol 9mm, and a 44 mag revolver.  I didn't even aim the revolver it was so hard to shoot- I just pointed out and held on as hard as I could.  I hit the gong a few times 200 yards out with the rifle and I did OK with the pistol (see targets).  I was pleased to see one of my targets was in a happy face :)  It wasn't very far out though.

I bought some pink ear protection for the next time I go.  I'm pretty excited to use it. We are also going to try throwing knives I think which should be interesting.

Sunday Andy took a day to himself and I just played with the boys.  It has been LOVELY weather all week!

Wednesday I realized I fit in my old Buckle jeans that I consider my "skinny" pants. SUCCESS! I haven't been able to comfortably sit in them until now since I got pregs with Kellan.

Thursday night I went out with some friends from CrossFit to the new Big Whisky saloon downtown.  It was SO much fun.  They teach a new line dance at 7:30 then you get to do it a few times that night.  There are some girls that knew ALL the dances!  I hope I can because it was so fun.  The only downside was it was all country music so you couldn't really dance unless you knew the line dance or you wanted to 2-step around the outside.  It was still really fun and hope to go back a lot.  I even was in bed by 11 which surprised me.

Me Jenna and Bev (she owns the crossfit gym) and Dereck photo bombing
Today Sawyer threw up all day.  I'm hoping it was a food thing more than an illness so we don't all get that.  He didn't seem to have a fever or loss of energy though.  Hopefully it was a one-day thing.  Andy stayed home with them all day catching various puke buckets while organizing the house.  He earned his night out with my brother tonight :)
